Got
a question about driving?
If you can’t find the answer on this website, please contact
us, we will aim to give you a personal reply within 24 hours.
Q. What's the best way to learn the material for my Driving Theory Test?
Is there anything I can do to prepare myself for the Hazard Perception
Test?
A. We recommend
sensible study of The Official Highway Code and supporting publications
from The Stationery Office (see Links section)
but in addition, there are some excellent CD Rom and online study based
tutorials available to supplement these. These sometimes have a Hazard
Perception component, and these can provide good practice for the sorts
of skills you will need to be successful at the Hazard Perception Test.
Q. How will
I know what progress I am making?
A. Your
driving instructor will provide you with a written assessment at the beginning
of your course of instruction against which you will be able to measure
your feedback in your New Drivers Progress Report.
Q. How soon
will I be ready to take my practical test?
A. Progress
varies between students; some find acquiring the skills necessary to be
a safe driver take longer than others. The number of lessons you need
will be tailored to your personal progress.
Q. Will my instructor smoke / arrive with another pupil in the car
/ chat on their mobile / cut my lessons short?
A. Absolutely
not. Our Driving Instructors are fully accredited professionals with many
years experience. As a Driving School, we adhere to the ADI
Code of Practice administered by the DSA. Please see Our
Agreement section of this website for details on the standard
of quality you can expect from our driving instructors.
Q. What sort of car will I learn to drive in?
A. At
present our fleet is comprised of Vauxhall Corsa or Ford Fiesta cars,
as experience shows us that most pupils prefer to learn in a small to
medium model. Your car will be clean and modern, fully maintained and
dual control, and no more than 6 months old.
